Family Constellations, also known as Systemic Constellations, is a method rooted in deep Indigenous wisdom from the Zulu tribe of Africa. Developed by Bert Hellinger in 1970s Germany, Constellations reveal hidden dynamics that are causing chaos, pain, and reoccurring issues, as well as where movements and changes in a system can add more strength and energy.

It is a healing modality that works on a cellular, embodied, and energetic level to allow life changing information to be seen and felt.

What To Expect

Why go to Constellations?

Constellations help you move forward by releasing what you may not have realized you were carrying. You may attend a Constellation to seek a specific answer or resolution on an ongoing relationship, health, or financial issue; to move past an overall sense of ‘stuckness’ or pain in your life; or to experience the kind of healing that is only possible when we are part of a safe and supportive group.

What will my first time be like?

If you are drawn to Constellations, even if you’re not sure why, trust that this pull is enough to make the choice to come. Many people arrive at their first group session saying “I don’t know why I’m here, something just made me feel like I should be here.”

It’s common to feel a bit nervous or unsure, with a sense of “I don’t know what I’m getting myself into.” At a group session, you’ll sit in a circle with others - mostly people you’ve never met. Next to the facilitator, there will be an empty chair. Throughout the day, participants will take turns sitting in that chair to explore something important in their life. This is called receiving a Constellation.

You might receive your own Constellation, be invited to support someone else as a Representative, or simply sit in the circle as a witness. All three roles are equally valuable, and each one can offer meaningful insights or powerful shifts.

By the end of the day, many people feel a deep sense of clarity, release, and resolution. You’ll likely feel a deeper trust in your body and a sense of amazement at the power of the Knowing Field to reveal hidden dynamics and bring forward insights that serve every participant in the room.

Should I book a 1:1 or a group Constellation first?

Many people explore both 1:1 and group Constellations, as each offers a unique way to uncover what is really behind your struggles, release what isn’t yours, and create space for meaningful change in your life. For those who have never experienced Constellations before, we highly recommend attending a group first. However, you may choose to book a 1:1 session if you:

  • Have a very specific issue you’re ready to look at now, and don’t want to wait for the next group event

  • Prefer privacy or want to go deep into personal themes without the presence of others

  • Need more focused support or have limited time

  • Want to work at your own pace with room for discussion

What should I do after a Constellation?

You may feel either very energized or very tired after a Constellation. Much like after a deep tissue massage, it’s important to hydrate and take it easy, as a lot of energy has been moved through your system. If it’s your first time, we strongly recommend creating space to rest and relax directly after, as each person’s experience of Constellations is different.

In the days that follow, you may find yourself requiring more or less rest, feeling drawn to unexpected things you want to do with your time, or noticing new ideas and emotions rising to the surface. In this work, we often say: “Don’t think, let it sink.” Rather than trying to ‘figure out’ what happened, allow your body and system to integrate all the new awareness and wisdom. Lastly, it is most beneficial to not discuss your Constellations for at least two weeks afterwards, to let the insights and shifts fully settle within you.
